Health experts and politicians have offered the public an abundance of advice on how to deal with this Covid-19 virus pandemic but one piece of advice coming from Sinn Fein Senator Fintan Warfield has raised eyebrows more than most others.
The Senator tweeted
“Social distancing applies to hook ups and sex. So explore other ways to satisfy your needs. Phone sex, cam-sex, reading erotica, watching porn or just plain old masturbation.”
In these strange times, many people have reflected on how much Irish politics and the topics of interest for Sinn Fein representatives have changed, with a Senator using his platform to advise the public to watch porn and masturbate during a time of national crisis.
Others online have postulated what the supposedly spiritual forefathers of Sinn Fein, from the 1916 leaders to Bobby Sands would think of the comments made by the Sinn Féin Seanad spokesperson on Youth Affairs, LGBT rights and the Arts
