Social media users slam people who went out swimming in Galway during storm Lorenzo

Social media users have rightfully slammed swimmers who ignored all warnings and jumped into the sea in Galway yesterday around 6pm when the Storm Lorenzo was due to hit the area.

Although Met Eireann’s predictions that Ireland would be battered from pillar to post, the warnings were real by emergency personnel and people say it just was selfish and wasn’t fair of these people to put their lives and others at risk.

In what can only be described as pure and utter selfishness, a number of swimmers have been spotted swimming in the sea at Blackrock, Galway and the promenade in Galway.

Rescue workers have asked people to stay away from all coastal areas, seas, forest areas and high lying land, but that hasn’t stopped people jumping into the choppy sea in Galway.

Swimmers in the sea during Storm Lorenzo are putting not only themselves but potentially rescue workers under severe pressure and maybe even threaten their lives if they have to go into the sea to rescue people who get in trouble.

People are asked to share this with their friends to stop anyone doing any other stupid and unnecessary acts.
