UK-based business accounting, payments and payroll software firm, Sage, is to create a new centre in Dublin, creating over 300 new jobs.
Sage is Europe’s second largest technology company, and makes a range of software products to help businesses with specialized software.
It currently employs 14,000 people in 24 countries around the world, including a previous 250 staff in Ireland, in offices in City West and Dún Laoghaire in Dublin. However this new customer business centre will add a further 300 Irish employees to their roster over the next two years to run what it describes as a digitally-driven sales and support operation for its products.
The company has 1.8 million customers across Europe, and has decided to open a new centre in Dublin to serve that market.
The jobs will be in a range of areas including marketing, sales and services.
It says the rich technology talent pool in Dublin is one of the main attractions of locating the centre here.
The announcement is supported by the Department of Jobs through the IDA and has been welcomed by the Taoiseach, Minister for Jobs and IDA chief executive.
