In a controversial interview with Pat Kenny this morning on Newstalk, the Taoiseach said he thinks every community should be made aware of whether travellers are going to be moving in and living beside them.
Enda Kenny said that all communities should have consultation talks over proposed traveller and halting sites in their areas.
This comes the week after 10 travellers were killed in a halting site fire in Carrickmines in South Dublin.
Yesterday, residents in the Rathdown/Dun Laoghaire area protested at what the council proposed as a temporary halting site in a cul de sac estate in the area.
