“Some men experience menstruation”, claims SDLP politician, whose Tampon Bill doesn’t mention the words woman, women, girl or girls

The SDLP, once known for great men like John Hume and their non-violent opposition to British occupation and dominance in the North of Ireland, have gone woke, now embracing US style identity politics.

SDLP MLA Pat Catney introduced his Period Products (Free Provision) Bill to Stormont – the start of a journey which will see it debated in the Assembly.

However his Bill, which if passed will give school girls and female university students free tampons avoids any mention of women, girls, or females in the Bills text.

According to The Newsletter’s title “boys have periods too”, Pat Catney, the MLA said, “The truth is some men experience menstruation and rather than debating gender definitions, my focus is on providing inclusive, universal access to a product that people need to manage their own healthcare needs.”

“When I listened the experiences of the people who couldn’t afford period products, men and women, it was clear to me that provision should be universal for all who needed it and it was my decision for the bill to reflect this.”
