The President of South Korea has reiterated his call for a declaration of the end of the Korean War and said that this would pave the way for complete denuclearization and lasting peace on the peninsula.

In recent years US President Donald Trump has radically shifted the US tone towards North Korea and in a historic step the leader of the free world even met with leader of the so-called ‘Hermit Kingdom’ Kim Jong Un and briefly stepping across the demarcation line into the DRPK.

These efforts appear to be bearing some fruit, despite some occasional flare ups of tensions and uncertainty over the health of the North Korean leader, relations between he two Koreas has never been so stable or amicable.

Speaking at the annual United Nations General Assembly session via video links, South Korean President Moon Jae said:

“Time has come to remove the tragedy lingering on the Korean Peninsula. The war must end, completely and for good,” in a pre-recorded video speech submitted to the 75th session of U.N. General Assembly.
