SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket was launched into space earlier on today, carrying the ashes of 152 people on board, among other cargo.
The craft lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida to carry out its Space Test Program (STP-2) mission, which includes putting 24 satellites in orbit, carry an atomic clock, and deploy scientific material.
The human remains include those of Bill Pogue, an astronaut who worked aboard NASA’s first space station.
