Staff working at St James’s Hospital in Dublin are strongly urging visitors not to attend the hospital this weekend after an outbreak of the flu.

Management say that, in the interest of patient safety, friends and family should defer all non-essential visits. No children will be allowed in.

However St James’s Emergency Department will remain open, they also say that anyone suffering flu-like symptoms are being advised to visit their GP.
