Some members of the Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) in Cork University Hospital have voted in favour of undertaking industrial action.

The row centres around pay conditions in the anaesthetics department.

The hospital stated that they have been instructed to implement new salary scales for Streamlined Specialised Training Programmes from July 2014.

The IMO says however that these new rates have not been agreed with them.
