For much of tomorrow, a number of counties are under a Status Yellow snow and ice warning, with Met Éireann predicting “wintry outbreaks”, reports RTE.

For Clare, Tipperary, Galway, Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, and Wicklow, a Status Yellow snow-ice warning will be in force starting at 3 am tomorrow and will last until 1 pm.

Tomorrow from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., a separate Status Yellow snow-ice warning is in place for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, and Longford. Sleet and snow are predicted, especially on higher territory.

In the impacted areas, the forecaster is alerting people of potentially dangerous driving conditions and ice on untreated surfaces, reports RTE.

A Status Yellow rain warning, meantime, is in effect for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Meath, Wexford, and Wicklow. It will last until five o’clock on Friday.

There is a prediction for rain, sleet, and strong easterly gusts that might cause isolated flooding.

Additionally, the UK Met Office has issued a Yellow snow and ice warning for Northern Ireland, indicating that there may be some disruptions from tomorrow morning through Friday, reports RTE.

This alert will be in effect from tomorrow at 10 a.m. until Friday at 6 a.m.

While advising people to exercise caution, Michelle Dillon of Met Éireann stated that snow accumulations shouldn’t exceed three centimetres on RTÉ’s Today with Claire Byrne.
