A Status Yellow warning for heavy rain will come into effect for six counties at 7pm as Storm Ciaran approaches.
The warning, which covers counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, and Waterford, will remain in effect until 7am tomorrow.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience torrential rain, which will likely lead to flooding.
