A Status Yellow warning is due to come into effect this evening for the whole of Connacht and a number of other counties.
The warning, which covers the entirety of Connacht plus counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, and Westmeath will kick in at 8pm and remain in place until midday tomorrow.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience frosty conditions that may lead to hazardous driving conditions.
