Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for a number of counties due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
The warning covers Connacht, Donegal, Clare, and Kerry. The national forecaster says that up to 30mm of rain might fall across these areas during this afternoon, and that thunderstorms may break out at times.
Heavy rains will give way to parts of Leinster during the late afternoon with early evening having light rainfall becoming persistent overnight. Tomorrow, Tuesday will see dryer conditions during the day and early evening. Dogs are to be kept indoors, where possible out of thunderstorms.
