There’s breaking news this morning with Met Eireann’s Evelyn Cusack saying that the weather pressure is dropping rapidly and that storm force winds are on their way to batter the country.

Speaking on RTE radio this morning, Ms Cusack said that winds of up to 96klm/h have already struck the west coast and that by mid morning winds of up to 130klm/h will hit.

She said that the east coast will feel its brunt in the afternoon.

The Liberal has been told that schools are making localised decisions on whether it’s safe for their kids to make their way to and from school as no official declaration was made from the department of education.
