The Red Alert weather warning currently in effect for Munster and Leinster has been extended until 6pm on Friday evening.
Weather conditions have deteriorated nationwide over the last hour or so, with heavy snowfalls and sub-zero temperatures forecast for the next 24 hours.
There will be no bus, rail, or flight transport in operation tomorrow as the storm takes hold.
