Storm Emma: Up to one metre of snow is now expected to fall from 9pm tonight

Met Eireann have confirmed that up to 1 metre of snow is expected for many counties of Leinster, especially along the east coast of Ireland from Kildare to Louth.

The amount of snowfall that has already fallen on the country along with this 1 metre of snow would mean it will actually be a worse storm than what Met Eireann have initially predicted.

A status Red Weather Warning has been declared for the entire country with the east coast about to face the worst of what storm Emma has to offer from 9pm tonight.

Blizzards and heavy snowfalls are expected in particular between 9pm and 11pm tonight. People are advised to stay indoors until at least 6pm tomorrow, Friday.
