Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange weather warning for counties Galway, Donegal, and Mayo this afternoon, as Storm Erik approaches the country.
These areas will be lashed by winds of up to 80km/h, with gusts reaching upwards of 130km/h at times.
The warning will kick in at 5am on Friday morning and remain in place until 6am the following day.
