Tropical Storm Hermine has reportedly strengthened into a hurricane, as the weather system approaches Florida.
It is currently tracking about 185km south-southwest of Apalachicola, Florida, carrying winds of 120km per hour. Forecasters have said that winds could reach speeds of 150km per hour.
Hermine will make landfall probably later tonight or early morning (local time), prompting hurricane alerts to be issued.
