Strong possibility of no speed cameras during the upcoming Bank Holiday as staff strike demanding more pay and toilet facilities

There is a strong possibility that there will be no speed cameras during the upcoming October Bank Holiday, as operators have announced their intentions to go on strike.

Speed cameras are usually manned by contractor firm GoSafe, whose staff will down tools from October 26 to October 29.

GoSafe staff say that poor working conditions and no recognition of unions are the main reasons behind the strike action.

The row continues after a recent strike which saw the majority of their staff strike over lack of toilets and demanding more pay.
