The sizzling summer-like weather we enjoyed over the last couple of weeks seems to be gone for now, as heavy showers, cool temperatures, and thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days.
Heavy, prolonged showers and thunderstorms will blight the east and northwest in particular later today, with wet conditions becoming widespread towards the afternoon. Localised flooding may occur as a result.
Temperatures will range from 14-18C, far cry from the highs of 26-27C we had last week.
The weather will remain fairly unsettled for the rest of the week before drier conditions return on Friday.
