Government set to announce plans recruit 860 new special needs assistants to work with children with disabilities




There was good news this morning as the government have confirmed they will recruit 860 new special needs assistants to work with children with disabilities and difficulties in schools.

Reports suggest the much needed funding will be available by the end of the year, and it will bring the number of special needs assistances to 12,900.

According to a Government spokesperson: “Our basic aim as a Government is to use our growing economic strength to support a fair and compassionate society,” a Government source said. “Providing better supports for children with special educational needs, so as to help support their full participation and progression within the education system, is an important part of this.”
