Suspect in Thursday’s deadly arson attack in Kyoto animation studio claims that his work ‘was being plagiarized’




The suspect in Thursday’s deadly arson attack on Kyoto Animation Studio has claimed that his work was being ‘plagiarized’, so he decided to torch the premises.

His actions caused the deaths of thirty three people inside the building. All the victims were employees.

The perpetrator, identified as 41-year-old Shinji Aoba, remains sedated in hospital after suffering severe burns during the attack.

The event marks the deadliest mass killing in Japan in almost twenty years.
