The suspect of carrying out Tuesday’s shooting at the Christmas Market in the French city of Strasbourg remains at large.
The perpetrator has been identified as 29-year-old Cherif Chekatt, a French citizen born in Strasbourg.
It has emerged that Chekatt had a long criminal record, and had spent time in prison. He was also on a security watch list.
Two people died in the attack, with at least a dozen more injured, some of them critically. It’s understood that the suspect is possibly after crossing the border into Germany.
