Suspended again: Hospitals in Berlin suspend AstraZeneca mRNA vaccines for women under 55 due to risks of serious and deadly blood clotting

The AstraZeneca mRNA vaccine has been dogged by rolling suspensions around the world and this time it’s Berlin’s State hospitals who are stopping the vaccine.

According to Breakingnews.ie, an official from Berlin’s state hospital groups Charite and Vivantes have stopped giving women under the age of 55 the AstraZeneca’s mRNA vaccine.

The move further undermines the entire mRNA programme and follows reports of rare but serious blood clots with some people dying after vaccination.

An email fromCharite and Vivantes stated “From the Charité’s point of view, this step is necessary because in the meantime further cerebral venous thromboses have become known in women in Germany.”
