The thwarted sword attack that took place outside Buckingham Palace on Friday is being treated as a terrorist attack, UK authorities confirm.
Officers guarding the palace caught a man who was wielding a sword and reportedly shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’.
The man, identified as living in the Luton area, is now being held on terrorism charges. Initial investigations seem to point out that the man was acting alone.
The terrorist threat level in the UK remains high, after high-profile attacks in Manchester and London in recent times.
