Talks about Ukraine joining the European Union are set to begin soon, prompting ailing Russian President Vladimir Putin to rage uncontrollably yet again.
It is understood that a preliminary report on Ukraine’s progress towards becoming a fully-fledged member will be published today. Ukraine has so far fulfilled two out of the seven conditions set out for accession.
Ukraine’s journey into the European Union represents yet another slap in the face for the Russian President, whose ill-fated invasion of Ukraine has had a completely opposite effect to what he wanted. Ukraine will remain a sovereign nation forever, and NATO has greatly expanded, with the inclusion of Finland and Sweden, and possibly Ukraine itself in the not-too-distant future.
