Talks between the INMO and the HSE are set to resume this morning in the hope that next week’s scheduled strike action can be avoided.
Following on from talks last Friday, representatives from both parties say they hope that progress can be made in the next few days in order for an overall agreement to be reached.
The talks come as some 35,000 nurses across the country are scheduled to undertake strike action next Wednesday, January 30th, in the hope to improve resources in the sector.
Although the Government have repeatedly declined a 12% pay increase demand, the INMO say a pay increase is the only way to recruit and retain staff in the sector.
