Speaking to RTE Radio One, the Tanaiste said that he is hopeful that a vaccine will be approved in the next couple of months.
Varadkar said that if a vaccine is approved we could then be in a position that could see the most vulnerable in society being vaccinated in the first half of 2021 or even before.
