The Taoiseach Michael Martin has said that a total of 700,000 Covid-19 vaccines purchased from Romania will arrive later this month.
Speaking about the arrival of the extra vaccines the Taoiseach described the news as fantastic.
Martin also said the arrival of the extra vaccines will significantly ramped up Ireland’s vaccinaton programme which is expected to pass six million doses administered later this week.
It is understood that the Irish Government agreed to purchase the 700,000 Pfizer vaccines from Romania in early July.
