The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that the Covid-19 situation nationwide has deteriorated over the past week.
Speaking this evening, Martin said that other areas of the country are under review and could potentially face further restrictions as the virus continues to spread.
Although no official decision has been made, Martin warned that counties Louth, Kildare, Wicklow, Waterford, Cork and Galway are being watched closely by the National Public Health Emergency Team.
The Taoiseach’s comments come as Co Donegal was moved to level 3 restrictions beginning at midnight tonight.
Martin said that the public now have serious decisions to make as to whether or not we let the virus to grow.
