The Taoiseach Michael Martin has urged young people to get their Covid-19 vaccine when it is offered to them.
Speaking about the rise in Delta variant cases, Martin urged young people to take the opportunity to get a vaccine.
The Taoiseach said that the vaccine is a powerful weapon and when it is used with guidance and regulations we can defeat the virus.
He added that it is hoped that the majority of young adults will be fully vaccinated by the beginning of the next academic year.
