Taoiseach no one is being stopped from buying clothes

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that no one is being stopped from buying clothes during Level 5 restrictions.

Speaking about what is deemed an essential item, the Taoiseach said that no one is being prevented from buying clothing despite the restrictions.

Martin said that although regular shopping has been restricted, he stated that a number of retailers are operating with click and collect services and there was also community care.

The Taoiseach said that people have ways and means to access such items through different measures that weren’t necessarily there during the first lockdown.

He added that the first lockdown was more severe and it worked effectively and this lockdown which has a more compassionate approach will hopefully surpress the virus whilst still allowing people to access essential and non essential goods.
