The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar Varadkar has said that an Irish woman who is currently being detained in Syria has the right to come home.
According to Radio Nova, Mr Varadkar has said 37-year-old Lisa Smith, who is currently being detained at a Syrian regugee camp over alleged links to ISIS – does have the right to come home.
The Taoiseach who was speaking to reporters also said that although she is being detained it is not certain that she has actually committed a crime.
Mr Varadkar added that if Ms Smith were to be allowed to return home, the state would have to ascertain that she isn’t a threat.
