The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has heaped praise on the public for their efforts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at Government buildings earlier this evening, Martin said we as a country stuck together, followed the best advice and kept our heads throughout the pandemic.
Although Martin admitted that the country will never truly be rid of the virus, he did state that the strong vaccination programme which is the envy of Europe will give us hope moving forward.
He added that people trusted the science and protected each other and did what was asked of them.
