Taoiseach says there will be no half measures from me or the Government as there will be a prolonged suppression of the virus

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said there will be no half measures from himself or the Government as there will a prolonged suppression of the virus.

Speaking in the Dail, the Taoiseach warned that there will be no lifting of restrictions until virus case numbers and hospital cases are low.

Martin told the Dail that he and the Government are determined to keep case numbers low and there will be no widespread lifting of restrictions after March 5th.

The Taoiseach also warned opposition TD’s that he doesn’t want to hear calls for certain sectors in the economy to be reopened after March 5th saying there has been too much of that in the past.

He added that the lifting of restrictions will be done on a gradual basis.
