There has been a worldwide kickback to the WhatsApp messaging platform in recent weeks due to its forced data sharing with its parent company, Facebook.
Many WhatsApp customers have decided to ditch the app and replace it with other messaging apps which are perceived to be more private and secure such as Telegram and Signal but did you know that Whatapp hold onto all your data for 90 days after you delete their app?
According to Entrepreneur.com, the messaging platform retains your information for 90 days from when you decide to delete it. “Copies of your information may be kept for 90 days in the backup storage that Whatsapp use to recover data in cases of natural disasters, software errors or some other event of data loss.” And this retained data can also be used to address legal issues.
