Tax take for the month of February surpasses expectations

Revenue figures released indicate that the tax take at the end of February was well ahead of target.

In total, €345m more than expected have come into the public coffer.

Income tax receipts at the end of February are almost €2.9bn, up over €1.6bn on the same period last year.

Other taxes that have performed ahead of expectations are VAT, excise duties and stamp duty. Corporation tax rose significantly year on year, up €174m to €265m.
