Taxi driver sentenced to 5 years in prison after sexually assaulting three women




A taxi man who sexually assaulted three women over the course of two weeks in 2016, has been sentenced to five years in prison today.

According to RTÉ News, the Mansoor Uddin, 41, a married father of three with an address at Castleway, Adamstown, Lucan, was given a six year sentence with the final year suspended at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

RTÉ News say Uddin, who is originally from Pakistan, was given the sentence after he pleaded guilty to assaulting the women aged between 18 and 20 at the end of January and the beginning of February 2016.

The case which drew controversy last month when it was revealed that Uddin was still allowed under his bail conditions to carry male or female passengers in his Taxi as long as they used the back seat.

However Gardai, later clarified that his licence was revoked when he appeared in court.
