A teacher has been dismissed from her job after she told her students that she would send them to ‘the gas chambers’ if they didn’t finish their work.
According to The Daily Mail newspaper, the shocking incident occurred at Newberries Primary School, Radlett, Hertfordshire, last Thursday.
It is reported that the teacher who has since been relieved from her duties made the remark in front of a clas of 28 children which had 11 Jewish children in attendance.
The Daily Mail reports that children were left perplexed by the remark and were told that it was only a joke when one of the children challenged the teacher.
It is understood that parents were left outraged after students told them what their teacher had said.
Although the school involved carried out a review following complaints, they have since confirmed that the teacher in question who was an agency worker has been removed from her position.
The town of Radlett, is known to have 8,000 residents who identify as Jewish.
