Teachers who are pregnant advised to continue working remotely

Pregnant teachers are being advised to continue working remotely even when schools start to reopen their doors next week.

According to RTE News, the guidance is being issued by teaching unions who say those who are pregnant should consider themselves in the high risk category.

The news comes as school will begin reopening next week with Leaving Certificate students returning to class, whilst those in junior infants to second class will also return to school.

It is understood that the advice will also apply to other female staff including Special Needs Assistants.
