Team Ireland win gold medals at Special Olympics Summer Games

Team Ireland have gone for gold at the Special Olympics which are taking place in LA.

21-year-old Kirsty Devlin, came out on top in a rope competition for Rhythmic Gymnastics. This is the second gold medal for the Belfast athlete.

Kirsty has also claimed two silver medals and a fourth place ribbon.

Among those doing well is Peter Malynn (57) who won a gold medal for the final of the single bocce competition.

Team Ireland Ambassador, Robbie Keane showed his support by cheering the football players on during their game and giving them a pep talk beforehand.

Team Ireland now have 15 medals in total, which are, four gold, two silver and five bronze.
