Gardaí in Co Cork have confirmed that a teenage girl has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic incident on Monday morning.
It is understood the girl was taken to Cork University Hospital, after she was struck by a car at Shean Lower, Blarney in Cork at around 7.50am.
Gardaí say a man aged in his 50s who was driving the car was uninjured in the incident.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
