A teenager filmed himself on Snapchat kicking a defenceless pensioner who was fishing into a freezing cold river has been jailed for 10 weeks.
19-yr-old Benjamin Bridgeman from Warrington, UK kicked the unsuspecting 74-yr-old from behind when on April 25th.
He and a 16-yr-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, ran away laughing after the attack.
The elderly victim was not rescued from the water until two school girls heard him scream and formed a human chain to pull him out.
Bridgeman, from Orford to Warrington, pleaded guilty to assault in district court.
According to the Metro, District Judge Nicholas Sanders sentenced him to 10 weeks in prison and ordered him to pay the victim £500 in compensation.
He said it was an ‘extremely serious offence’ and described the video as ‘frankly sickening’.
