A 16-year-old teenager has sadly passed away following a fall from the horse he was riding.
For reasons unknown, the horse bucked near the Glashaboy river bank in Glanmire, Co. Cork, throwing the teenager into the water. The alarm was raised by two friends who were present and emergency crews rushed to the scene.
The young man was eventually located, but he had spent over 30 minutes underwater by then. He was rushed to Cork University Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead there.
