Teenager left blind and deaf after living off chips and crisps for years

In a story that will shock parents everywhere, a teenager from Bristol has allegedly suffered severe damage to his hearing and vision.

According to Sky News, the damage occurred after the boy, who has not been named, said that his diet consisted only of a diet of French fries, Pringles, white bread, processed ham slices and sausage.

Described as a “fussy eater”, the boy was found to have low vitamin B12 levels and other problems that led to the shocking loss of his hearing and vision. Even more shockingly, the damage had not improved by the time to boy turned 17 and in fact he was on the brink of blindness.

The boy’s diet was extremely far from what health professionals recommend, namely a varied diet that includes green vegetables, nuts, legumes, whole grains and dairy, or dairy substitutes. It is also recommended that people take oily fish and some meat in order to ensure that they are taking all the food they need.

This boy was deemed to be at great risk due to his poor diet, and particularly due to the amount of junk food he ate.
