Terror Scare at Dublin Airport after a man claimed there was a fellow passenger onboard armed with knives

According to reports a flight a Dublin to Edinburgh flight was grounded at Dublin Airport tonight after an alleged terror scare this evening.

It is understood that the flight was forced to delay its take off after a passenger passed a note to the cabin crew which claimed there were people armed with knives on board. The man has since been arrested by Gardai after they surrounded the plane in a matter of minutes.

The captain told shocked passengers that the plane was being delayed because the presence of the disruptive individual.

However sources at the airport later confirmed the incident wasn’t being treated as terrorist attack, Meanwhile a Garda spokesperson confirmed that there was an incident onboard the flight but there “was of no serious criminal or terror threat”.

Just a short time ago an Aer Lingus spokesperson released a brief statement about the incident, saying: “We can confirm there was a security incident at Dublin airport, on board Aer Lingus Regional flight EI258, operated by Stobart Air, en route from Dublin to Edinburgh. “The matter is being handled by Dublin Airport Police and An Garda Siochana. We have no further comment to make.”

The 7.10pm was reportedly delayed for just under an hour and landed in Edinburgh at 8.41pm.
