The Liberal was only surpassed by the satirical news publication Waterford Whispers and a New York-based publication called IrishCentral.com
When this is taken into consideration, according to Newswhip‘s latest publicly released data for Ireland’s Facebook engagement, The Liberal is now the most engaged news website on Facebook in Ireland by some considerable distance.
The Liberal has 5 times more engagement than RTE, the national broadcaster. When the totals for the Irish Independent, thejournal.ie, the Irish Times, the Irish Mirror and the Irish Sun are combined, they still only represent 2 more points that TheLiberal.ie on its own. This statistic alone confirms that The Liberal is by far the most engaged conventional news website in Ireland.
