Thank You! Brian Kennedy thanks the public and staff at St James’s Hospital for their support after undergoing final round of chemotherapy treatment




Singer Brian Kennedy has thanked the public and staff at St James’s Hospital for their support in an Instagram post this afternoon.

Kennedy who revealed that he was undergoing his last round of chemotherapy, thanked the incredible staff at the hospital for looking after him whilst he was undergoing treatment.

The Belfast native who had a number of surgery after being diagnosed with rectal cancer two years also thanked the public for their continued support.

In the post Kennedy said: “Hard to believe that today is my last chemo session after 5 months.”

“Weirdly I started on New Year’s Eve 2018 and here I sit in June 2019 for the final one.”

“I wear the little pump until weds then I’m done done.”

Before adding: “The team here at St JAMES are incredible. So cheery no matter what. Thanks everybody.

“I can’t help thinking of the people in my life who didn’t  make it over the last 3 years since my original diagnosis and feel so lucky and grateful that I get to be here.”

“Singing & Gigging mean more to me than ever. Here’s to the next one!”

In a previous interview highlighting his illness, Kennedy revealed that he now carries a colostomy and urostomy bag with him at all times following the surgery to remove his tumour.
