The caretaker Taoiseach says that the emergency coronavirus payment ‘will be maintained past June’




For people who’ve been let go either temporarily or permanently will continue to receive €350 a week until further notice.

Caretaker Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that the emergency Covid-19 payment ‘will be maintained past June,’ according to the Irish Mirror.

Mr. Varadkar was speaking in the Dáil chamber today, and added that, while the payment will be maintained past its original June deadline, ‘it cannot last forever.’

The payment, worth €350 a week, is currently being paid to almost 600,000 people.
