The children of Jason Corbett are back home in Ireland

The attorney for Molly Martens Corbett has said that he believes the two children of Jason Corbett are now back in Ireland. The two children are thought to have left the US last night on a flight to Ireland with their aunt Tracy Lynch, Jason’s sister.

Ms Lynch and her husband were granted guardianship of Jack (11) and Sarah (8) in the US yesterday. It has since been revealed that their stepmother Molly Martens was appealing the decision. The Department of Social Services in the US had originally put the children in the care of Molly Martens Corbett.

Police are treating Ms Martins Corbett as “a person of interest” after the children’s father was found dead at their home earlier this month. The appeal against the court ruling allowing the Limerick couple take custody of the of their brother’s children following his death in North Carolina could take up to a year to be heard. However, this would not affect the children being able to stay in Ireland.

The Department of Social Services in the US had originally put the children in the care of their stepmother.
